Description:

Screening of "Coal Country", followed by reception and discussion of: (1) Sierra Club report from Copenhagen, (2) Sierra Club's coal campaigns, and (3) how D.C. residents can stop relying on mountaintop removal coal mining to power our homes.
Come join local Sierra Club energy activists and D.C. Council staff to learn more about mountaintop coal removal in Appalachia. D.C. gets 60% of its juice from coal-fired power plants, and D.C. Councilmember Mary Cheh is currently considering a possible resolution touching on these issues.
